Embrace the festive spirit this season at Anchoridge. Read on to discover the best Christmas events, parties, workshops and kids activities happening all across December.
Christmas Trees
If you’re running a little behind this Christmas, fear not. There’s still time to grab yourself a lush, freshly cut pine tree at Holiday Christmas Trees in Waurn Ponds, right up until the 22nd of December. Because nothing beats the smell of a beautiful fresh tree.
If you find yourself braving the busy Geelong shopping centres this December, be sure to check out the 31 uniquely decorated trees currently brightening Little Malop Central, where local school students have been given the honour of decorating a tree with colour, lights and sparkle. See them from now until early January 2022.
Christmas Lights
Nothing says Christmas cheer like some bright lights. A popular event amongst locals, Adventure Park’s Christmas Festival of Lights is a must-do for any Geelong local. Combining a Christmas Festival, amusement park and a visual art exhibition, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Take in the glittery, interactive sculptures on display using a whopping 2.7 million lights! Write a letter to Santa and embrace your inner Christmas Spirit with the whole family.

Another popular local tradition is a visit to the Geelong Floating Christmas Tree, located on Geelong’s waterfront. Whilst it may be a beautiful sight during the day, the magic truly happens at night, with an interactive Sound and Light show played every 15 minutes between 8:30pm and midnight.

Workshops
Looking to get your kids involved in the Christmas festivities? YMCA Armstrong Creek is hosting a workshop on December 22nd, helping the youngest members of your family learn to hand-craft Christmas decorations and stockings in preparation for Santa’s arrival.
If you’re after something for adults to enjoy, head along to Brush and Bubbles in Geelong for a Christmas wreath-making experience. Using fresh seasonal flowers and foliage, get into the Christmas spirit while you enjoy a glass of bubbles with your friends.
Local florist, A Natural Bunch, is also on hand to assist you in creating a beautiful wreath with their Christmas Flower Arranging Workshop, the perfect addition to your front door.
Events
Take your kids to a Christmas party they’ll really enjoy at local playcentre Playhut. Open to all ages, infants to 12 years old, there’ll be fun activities across their three level space as well as arts and crafts, face painting, fairy floss, a visit from their friendly Bear mascot and even Santa himself! Each child will even receive a small gift. An added bonus? Barista-made coffee will be on hand to keep parents in high spirits.
If you find yourself dreaming of a white Christmas, why not make it a reality? Snow Space is an indoor snow-themed experience happening at Market Square Geelong all throughout December. With a reindeer training academy, an ice castle, frosty photo opps, snowy crafting and free pick and mix magical food for Rudolph, discover the magic of Christmas from a different perspective.
